Kentucky Derby 2019

Hey there gang! Did you have a nice Halloween? What else have you been doing?

What with the Melbourne Cup and the Breeders Cup at Churchill Downs, Hattingdon began to think Kentucky Derby. After all it’s only 6 months away.

Coincidentally Mrs Farrell has already put together a few hat ideas this past summer. Hattingdon decided she wanted to model them for you now, kind of a teaser. And to see what you like.

They are pretty sweet huh? Of course NOTHING is going to top last year’s Kentucky Derby hat, that gorgeous slice, and voted #1 hat for the entire year! Let’s enjoy this scrumptious hat again!

Mrs Farrell is particularly partial to this one and Hattingdon loves it too. Vintage sweetness.

Here’s what we think of the hats Mrs Farrell made for Hattingdon to wear to next year’s Kentucky Derby.

Hattingdon could go flamenco dancing too in the first one. It is very, very pretty! She looks great in it.

In the second, where she covered the base with veiling, Mrs Farrell commented that changing the leaves to black would make it suitable for a solemn occasion. Hmmm. Not sure why that sprang to mind.

The third to us is playful and reflects the spirit of Derby Day at Churchill Downs. So we choose it. Of course there is a long way to go and who knows what Mrs Farrell will come up with in the meantime?

Hope they brought you a hatful of smiles™.
