Roots

The annual international carrot day was founded in 2003 to spread knowledge about the carrot and its good attributes around the world.

The day is increasingly popular and the first ever April 4th, 2012 carrot celebration was reported from France, Italy, Sweden, Russia, Australia, UK and Japan.

Now it is your turn to be carrot ambassadors and continue spreading the message! Are you with us?

Nutrition

Nutrition Facts and Health Benefits. The carrot (Daucus Carota) is a root vegetable that is often claimed to be the perfect health food. It is crunchy, tasty and highly nutritious. Carrots are a particularly good source of beta-carotene, fiber, vitamin K, potassium and antioxidants.

Party

Gathering your friends to a carrot party is an excellent way of celebrating International Carrot Day. Treat them to carrots as snacks and after that a tasteful carrot cake or some other carrot dish.

Recommended drink is carrot juice or carrot drinks and carrot shots (carrot shots? Well, okay).

How about celebrating with a smoothie? See 31 Smoothies with Carrots at GreenBlender.com.

Wear It

Clothing is important! A true carrot lover celebrates Carrot Day in a carrot dress or orange suit with green hat. But for the newcomer it is enough to wear something orange. I got this!
