Stripes

Hello there. It’s Vivian here!

I thought it would be fun to take a look at a collection of Hattingdon® hats featuring stripes. There is a mixture of current and vintage hat designs.

Let’s get started.

Alexa

I love the grey and burnt orange together with the chevron motif that has been floated at the front of the crown.

Candie

I created two versions of the Candie hat design. This is such a fun look to decorate with throughout the Fall.

Charlie

This design was inspired by a perfume campaign eons ago, called Charlie. This is Hattingdon’s go to business hat. The look of the hat is menswear inspired from its striped crown and brim to its hatband fashioned from a man’s tie — in power red no less. You know Hattingdon.

Donna

This design was inspired by a Donna Karan dress. The textile she used was a flame stitch which I re-interpreted as rows of rick rack set against a striped background on the crown.

Dublin

You will see the following theme on several hats where I use stripes on the brim and continue them up into the base of the crown where the hatband would be, leaving only a small portion of the crown exposed. The Hattingdon® Dublin hat design is inspired by the green and the gold of the Irish flag.

Genevieve

This is one of my very favourites. I love the alternating stripes of lipstick pink, french blue and rich black with a co-ordinating belted and buckled hatband. These are so much fun to create.

Hester

I so adore this design. It is one my very earliest Hattingdon hat designs, created circa 2008. So very mod. I got the idea while listening to an oldies’ radio station.

A friend mentioned to me that if I ever sold this design on anything he would eat all of Hattingdon’s hats. Never tempt fate. About two weeks later, a lady in Germany bought a mug, a poster print and a tee for her daughter. So there, ha ha! Oh, and other people have bought this design too.

Jackie

I had to include this design because it is inspired by the Union Jack flag which I am very partial to. There are stripes on it, right? Darling.

Jenny Rose Classic

Here is the repeating stripes on brim and lower area of the crown I talked about on the Dublin hat, but this time in red and black embellished with roses tucked into the edge of the crown. There is another Jenny Rose design but that one came later and is a black and red picture hat with the same roses.

Lois

This is a sweet design. I am so very fond of these summer colours together. Besides being crazy about stripes I am also crazy about buttons.

This design was created in memory of a very dear friend’s Mom who passed on. Love you Lois. We remember you.

Paige

Here is another stripe and button combination using Hattingdon’s classic hat silhouette. Beige (may show up as brown) and black always look crisp and smart.

Peppermint

Ah, dear Peppermint. A perennial favourite ever since she was introduced circa 2010.

Sammy

Hattingdon’s top hat collection was put together pretty recently. Here’s her Uncle Sam inspired topper. How cute is that?

Shelby

Don’t you love these sherbert colours together. They look so fresh and pretty. Here the alternating coloured stripes are set off by a rick rack trim effect.

Sugar

Here’s a bit of a twist on stripes covering the brim and lower crown. In the upper crown area I filled it with an architectural motif. Delicious colour! Classic.

Whitney

Is this cheating? This is not exactly a striped hat but it does have a striped brim. Oh, well. Another one of my very favourites.

Look at the butterfly. Doesn’t she look like she is mesmerized by the button? This is one of our most popular hat designs ever.

Zara

Ah Zara. Again, one of my all time favourites. A truly classic look using Hattingdon’s classic hat silhouette. Animal print never goes out of style.

A Hatful of Smiles™

Hattingdon and I hope seeing these designs brought you a big hatful of smiles!

There are no doubt more striped hats stored somewhere, but these are the ones I could easily get my hands on. I feel they are a good representation of Hattingdon’s collection of striped hats and hope it has captured your imagination because I have a brilliant design in the works.

If the design is retired or not available on a product you want, we can make it up for you in a matter of minutes and send you a direct shopping link.

Thank you for stopping by.
