She’s nautical and nice, she’s the mighty (cute) Quinn

Maybe it’s the warm weather in Louisville so early in March when we typically have the cold and cloudy all day variety that has put me in a nautical mood.

Or perhaps it’s because I couldn’t wait to write about the mighty (cute) Quinn. Yes, I know. According to the Bob Dylan lyrics Quinn is actually an eskimo.

Everybody’s building the big ships and boats
Some are building monuments, others jotting down notes
Everybody’s in despair, every girl and boy
But when Quinn the Eskimo gets here everybody’s gonna jump for joy
Oh come all without, come all within
You’ll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn
Come all without, come all within
You’ll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn.

Here’s the mighty (cute) Quinn.

Did you know there is a lady singer called Eileen Quinn. I discovered her when I was searching for the Mighty Quinn lyrics.

Her website (Music for sailors . . . and normal people) says:

Eileen Quinn is a cruiser, songwriter and recording artist. With over 40,000 sea miles and countless beach bar performances behind her, few singers are as qualified to describe the ups and downs of the cruising lifestyle.

I didn’t know about this lady when I named Quinn. Interesting.

Besides the weather, there’s another reason the Quinn design series is on my mind: the new products we have added.

More and more as Hattingdon Horses evolve, and Zazzle, our online shopping home, add more and more decorator products we have been creating new types of merchandise inspired by her hats.

In this case, I made the anchor as a focal point and used the other two colors from Quinn’s hat — navy and red — and made what I think is a bright and classy looking design. Here are a few sample products.

You knew there was going to be a pillow.

Oh, and Zazzle have a really nice line of tank tops. Here’s one I couldn’t resist.

First, the top.

Now, what it looks like on the model.

And how it looks from the back.

Has all this put you in a summery mood? It has me.

Till next time, happy sailing from Hattingdon and her trusty sidekick.

Signed Vivian
